It is home to famous sites like Whitby Abbey (founded in 657 AD) and Scarborough Castle (a former medieval Royal fortress) There’s plenty of interesting historical sites to see in the region.
Whitby Abbey is perfectly situated to make the perfect day trip. The gorgeous ruin of the abbey is a stunning view of the seafrom the cliffs high above the town. To the other side, approximately 11 miles along the coastline, Scarborough Castle is one of the regions most important landmarks. There’s the best local cuisine
Everywhere around the globe is a different delicacy and in Yorkshire it is highly recommended to taste the traditional pie. There are exceptional pies that ooze of flavor in almost every pub that’s old-fashioned located in North Yorkshire. Yorkshire can be blessed by an a wealth of wildlife. It’s true that there are whales along in the North Yorkshire coast. From August through the end of October, whales called minke migrate across the coast in search of mackerel as well as herring. Boat tour operators like Whitby Coastal Cruises offer visitors the greatest chances of seeing the gentle giants. Raptors are also seen patrolling the skies above North Yorkshire. Be on the lookout for swift peregrine falcons, magnificent red kites, and migrating ospreys. Along the coast you’ll see a group of common and grey seals.
